Saab’s 9-3, more than ever, is the cornerstone of the GM-owned Swedish company’s Australian presence. An almost bewildering range of models, plus three body styles – sedan, convertible and SportCombi wagon - spring from one platform. The worthy 9-3 has a generally classy air, excellent dynamics and a wide range of engines. The convertible continues to be a 9-3 mainstay, the range now including the Fiat-developed 1.9-litre turbodiesel producing 110kW and 320Nm, and driving six-speed manual or five-speed auto transmissions.
