The Scenic is almost an MPV even if it only carries five passengers. The generally upright shape makes the most of the Renault’s packaging, providing space aplenty for passengers and luggage in a bright and airy interior. Clever features include under-floor storage compartments, trays under front and rear seats, a movable centre console, three sliding rear seats and trays behind the front seats. The turbodiesel version’s 1.9-litre four-cylinder produces 96kW and 250Nm, driving through a four-speed auto transmission only and returning an average consumption figure of 7.1L/100km. Six airbags, ABS, cruise control, trip computer, automatic climate control and six-speaker CD are standard.
