One of the real delights of 2006 was Porsche’s introduction of the Boxster-based Cayman two-seat coupe. For those who were attracted to the financial accessibility of the Boxster but really wanted a Porsche coupe, the Cayman was a Godsend. Only a few grand above a comparable Boxster, the Cayman delivers all the aural and tactile appeal of a 911 with even more balanced handling. Engine choices are the same as Boxster –180kW/273Nm 2.7-litre or, in the S version, a 217kW/340Nm 3.4-litre version. Transmission choices include five or six-speed manual (the latter in Cayman S) or a five-speed Tiptronic auto.
