The B-Class Benz came in 2005 to sit between the C-Class and the smaller A-Class with which it shares a lot. The front-drive formula is the same, but there's only a five-door and it's generally bigger. A 2009 facelift added new options including Active park assist. Three two-litre engines are offered diesel, normally aspirated and turbo and there's a choice of CVT or, in diesels, six-speed manual transmission. The B200 delivers 100kW and 185Nm for zippy performance and comes with a full Benz grab bag of safety gear including stability control, eight airbags and active front headrests.
