The A4 is Audi’s volume seller, going head-to-head with BMW’s 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It differs in two major ways: it is widely front-wheel drive, and is the only car in its class to offer all-wheel drive. The current A4 arrived here in April 2008 with a bogger cabin, more refinement, improved handling and extra standard equipment. Engine choices include a 1.8-litre turbo four-cylinder, three turbodiesels - two-litre four-cylinder, 2.7-litre and 3.0-litre V6 - and a 3.2-litre petrol V6. The base, front-drive 1.8-litre TFSI develops 118kW and 250Nm and offers the choice of six-speed manual or multitronic CVT transmission.
