Saab’s 9-3, more than ever, is the cornerstone of the GM-owned Swedish company’s Australian presence. An almost bewildering range of models, plus three body styles – sedan, convertible and wagon - spring from one platform. The worthy 9-3 has a generally classy air, excellent dynamics and a wide range of engine options in all models, including a high-output 154kW/300Nm two-litre petrol turbo in the Vector convertible. Equipment is otherwise regular Vector convertible: 17-inch alloys, six-CD stacker and a power driver’s seat complement Linear equipment. The transmission choices are the same too: a five-speed auto or six-speed manual.
